Angesichts der in den Medien verbreiteten Informationen über einen Vorfall, der sich am vergangenen Freitag, den 14. März, in der Maison Relais ereignet hat, möchte die Gemeinde Steinfort einige Klarstellungen vornehmen.

Ein Kind hat Tropfen Desinfektionsmittels in eine Wasserkaraffe gegeben, die anschließend von zwölf weiteren Kindern sowie einer Erzieherin getrunken wurde. Sobald der Vorfall festgestellt wurde, hat unser Team von der Maison Relais umgehend die geltenden Sicherheitsprotokolle angewandt, die Rettungsdienste alarmiert und das CGDIS kontaktiert. In Zusammenarbeit mit Experten aus Brüssel wurde eine Risikobewertung auf Grundlage des Sicherheitsdatenblatts des betreffenden Produkts durchgeführt.

Schnelle Betreuung und keine Lebensgefahr

Wir möchten Familien und die Öffentlichkeit beruhigen: Zu keinem Zeitpunkt bestand Lebensgefahr für die Kinder. Dennoch wurde aus Vorsichtsgründen und gemäß den standardmäßigen Verfahren in solchen Fällen vom 112 entschieden, Krankenwagen sowie einen Notarzt des SAMU zu entsenden. Die betroffenen Kinder und Erzieherin wurden zur weiteren Untersuchung ins Krankenhaus gebracht, begleitet von einem Erzieher im Krankenwagen. Die Eltern wurden persönlich informiert, und die Leiterin der Maison Relais begab sich vor Ort, um die Familien zu betreuen.

Untersuchung und Präventivmaßnahmen

Gemäß den geltenden Verfahren hat die Polizei die Maison Relais besucht, um eine Untersuchung einzuleiten, und die Staatsanwaltschaft wurde informiert. Zudem wurde eine interne Analyse eingeleitet, um die genauen Umstände des Vorfalls zu ermitteln und verstärkte Präventivmaßnahmen zu identifizieren.

Wir erinnern daran, dass das betreffende Kind minderjährig ist und die Verbreitung von Informationen auf die direkt betroffenen Personen beschränkt wurde, im Einklang mit den geltenden Vorschriften zum Schutz von Minderjährigen.

Suite aux informations relayées dans la presse concernant un incident survenu vendredi passé, 14 mars, à la Maison Relais, la Commune de Steinfort souhaite apporter des éléments de clarification.

Un enfant a versé des gouttes de désinfectant dans une carafe d’eau, qui a ensuite été consommée par douze autres enfants ainsi qu’une éducatrice. Dès la prise de connaissance de cet incident, notre équipe de la Maison Relais a immédiatement appliqué les protocoles de sécurité en vigueur, en alertant les services de secours et en contactant le CGDIS. En coordination avec des experts basés à Bruxelles, une évaluation des risques a été effectuée sur base de la fiche technique du produit concerné.

Prise en charge rapide et absence de danger vital

Nous tenons à rassurer les familles et le public : à aucun moment la vie des enfants n’a été en danger. Toutefois, par mesure de précaution et conformément aux procédures standard en pareil cas, la décision du 112 a été de mobiliser des ambulances ainsi qu’un médecin du SAMU. Les enfants et l’éducatrice concernés ont été transférés à l’hôpital pour des examens complémentaires, accompagnés par un éducateur dans l’ambulance. Les parents ont été informés personnellement, et la chargée de direction s’est rendue sur place pour prendre en charge les familles.

Enquête et mesures préventives

Conformément aux procédures en vigueur, la police s’est rendue à la Maison Relais pour initier une enquête et le Parquet a été informé. Par ailleurs, une analyse interne a été lancée afin de déterminer les circonstances exactes de l’incident et d’identifier des mesures préventives renforcées.

Nous rappelons que, l’enfant étant mineur, la diffusion d’informations a été limitée aux personnes directement concernées, dans le respect des règles de protection des mineurs en vigueur.

Nous remercions l’ensemble des intervenants pour leur réactivité et leur professionnalisme, qui ont permis une gestion efficace de la situation.

Following the information circulated in the media regarding an incident that occurred on Friday 14 March at Maison Relais, the municipality of Steinfort would like to provide some clarifications.

A child added drops of disinfectant to a water carafe, which was then consumed by twelve other children and an educator. As soon as the incident was identified, our team at the Maison Relais immediately applied the safety protocols in force, alerting the emergency services, and contacting the CGDIS. In coordination with experts in Brussels, a risk assessment was carried out based on the technical data sheet of the product concerned.

Rapid response and no life threat

We want to reassure families and the public: at no time were the children’s lives in danger. However, as a precautionary measure and in accordance with standard procedures in such cases, the decision of 112 emergency service was to dispatch ambulances as well as a SAMU emergency doctor. The affected children and educator were transferred to the hospital for further examination, accompanied by an educator in the ambulance. Parents were personally informed, and the head of Maison Relais went to the hospital to take care of the families.

Investigation and preventive measures

In accordance with current procedures, the police went to the Maison Relais to initiate an investigation, and the public prosecutor’s office was informed. Additionally, an internal analysis has been launched to determine the exact circumstances of the incident and to implement reinforced preventive measures.

We would like to point out that, as the child involved is a minor, the dissemination of information has been limited to those directly concerned, in accordance with applicable child protection regulations.
